Amber Brown, RN, MSN, CPNP, CEO (owner and operator)
Amber Brown is a registered nurse who graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from UTMB School of Nursing in 2005 and a Masters of Nursing in 2010.
After graduating with her Baccalaureate degree, she worked at UTMB Children's Hospital for a year as an RN, then as a pediatric triage nurse at Kelsey Seybold Clinic for 5 years.
During her time at Kelsey Seybold Clinic, she was adjunct faculty and a clinical instructor for the pediatrics and Capstone course at UTMB and fell in love with teaching nursing students. Upon graduating with her MSN, Amber became a pediatric nurse practitioner and took a job at the Brazoria County Alliance for Children where she conducted the pediatric physical and sexual abuse exams for the county for 2 years.
She then took her career to Texas Children's Pediatrics as a pediatric nurse practitioner who started and ran the evening clinic. Amber keeps her practice current by practicing as a PNP at Pedistat Urgent Care.
In June 2016, Amber opened our sister company, I.V. League CPR
and Safety Education Center which offers CPR classes, Breastfeeding & Lactation, and Health and Wellness Classes.
In February 2017, Amber opened the third addition to the I.V. League family, I.V. League Center of Wellness which offers students and the community yoga classes, massage therapy, and volunteer opportunities.
Amber has a true passion for the art of nursing and has a gift for teaching and instructing nursing students. By presenting the information in a way that enables students to comprehend and understand the material rather than memorize and reproduce the material on an exam, Amber truly shows a heart for nursing students and enjoys mentoring and helping students learn and pursue their passions in nursing.
Jared Douglas, Critical Care and EKG Tutor
My name is Jared, and I'm originally from the Galveston area. I'm a recent graduate from the UTMB with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I now work at Memorial Hermann TMC as a Cardiovascular Nurse. Furthermore, I love to help others comprehend new learning subjects relating to nursing. It's truly a passion of mine, and I'm always willing go the extra mile to help a future nurses learn and grow.
Julie Stefanick, MEd, BSN, RN
My name is Julie Stefanick. I’m a December 2018 graduate of UTMB and will be working as a clinical research nurse in the Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive medicine department at M.D. Anderson. I also have Masters of Education degrees from University of St. Thomas in both Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership and Administration, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Troy University. I’m a professional student, what can I say?! Prior to nursing I was a middle school science teacher and I have a passion for creating those lightbulb moments for others. I came to I.V. League as a second semester nursing student and went from struggling to thriving in a very short span of time. My goal is to help others to do the same. When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my husband and my two teenagers. We enjoy traveling, finding new adventures, and being anywhere there’s a sunny beach.
Sierra Soliz, Community Service Liaison
Sierra Will be graduating from UHCL with her Business Marketing degree this year. She is the VP of Communication for the American Marketing Association at her school and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. She loves to be involved with the community and giving back and has years of experience in Customer Service and started off as our marketing intern last summer. Sara Severs, BSN
Hello, I’m Sara, I.V. League’s newest expert tutor! With the guidance and mentorship of I.V. League Tutoring all four semesters of nursing school, I am a proud graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing. I have accepted a position on the neurology unit at Memorial Hermann TMC and I am so excited to join the I.V. League team here as one of the expert nurse tutors. Nursing school is hard, but with the right learning environment, anyone can thrive! My goal is to provide each individual student with the resources they need to not only understand the content, but to be able to apply it in real life situations as well. When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my friends & family, traveling, or enjoying the weather doing anything outdoors.
Andee Adamek, BSN, Administrative Assistant
Hi! My name is Andee Adamek and I’m thrilled to be able to call myself one of I.V. League’s newest employees. I am a proud graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch. I came to I.V. League as a struggling second semester student, but I was able to quickly turn that around with the guidance and help that I received through tutoring. Prior to nursing, I was a second grade teacher, so I have always had a passion for instilling knowledge and watching minds grow. I enjoy hanging out with my husband and dogs in my spare time! I am excited to be apart of the I.V. League team and working with you all!
